A simple five-step professional workflow.
Start with only the information reasonably needed to identify conflicts.
Discuss posture, deadline, venue, liability, damages, insurance, and the help being requested.
If appropriate and authorized, the prospective client is contacted and the potential relationship is evaluated.
Any referral, association, fee division, responsibilities, and required client disclosures are documented.
Keep the professional relationship informed at meaningful points in the case, consistent with client instructions and applicable duties.
